Bonus expiration: what is the deadline for claim, spins and turnover?

There may be three different clocks in the same promotion. Separate each start event and the expiring object so that everything is not mistakenly usable up to the latest date.

For the topic overview, see Mobile: clear controls and secure access.

Claiming deadline, validity of unused spins and period for wagering requirement may vary. Read what each timer refers to. Remaining time in one stage is not an automatic extension of another stage.

We will put three fictitious conditions in a worksheet and get the exact dates. There is no actual bonus or welcome offer that bigbunny is announcing in this article. For understanding the terms the example; this is no reason to rush, add stake or chase the remaining requirement.

“With 7 days” is insufficient if there is no start event

Seven from when: account creation, opt-in, crediting spins, first use, or crediting winnings? What needs to happen before the end: claim, use of spins, settlement of eligible wagers, or other action? As long as there is no answer to both, the deadline is not complete.

As a reference for reading the terms, listed by UK Gambling Commission glossary time limitations, qualification, stake restrictions and wagering requirements as examples of significant conditions. Great Britain is the regulatory context of that source; we do not transfer its legal obligations to the Philippines. What we use here is the clear separation of important conditions.

There are other fields besides time: eligibility, qualifying games, contribution rate, stake limit and effect of cancellation. If only the deadline is known, that is still not enough to say that the entire offer has been met. There is a separate one overview of promotions conditions for other checks.

Own example: three clear assumptions

All times in the worksheet are UTC+8, and all dates are October 2026. The following conditions are purely fictitious:

  1. Claim window: the offer can be accepted until 6 October, 23:59. In the model, spins were accepted and credited on 5 October, 21:15.
  2. Spin-use window: unused promotional spins will expire 72 elapsed hours after being credited. It’s not 72 hours after the last login.
  3. Wagering window: a winnings batch has 7×24 hours from its crediting to meet the assumed wagering condition. Batch credited on 6 October, 00:10. There is no new batch or reset in the model.

None of this is a universal rule. Clear wording was chosen to show the calculation. In actual terms, the start point may be a different event, a different duration, or one of the stages may not exist. Do not add the three periods as if they were consecutive automatic extensions.

Filled worksheet: three deadlines

Just fictitious terms. The event and deadline are both UTC+8; dates in October 2026.
StageStart event or fixed ruleCalculationModel deadline
ClaimingFixed cutoff in termsNo need to add duration6 Oct, 23:59
Use of unused spinsSpins credited: 5 Oct, 21:15+72 hours8 Oct, 21:15
Turnover of winnings batchWinnings credited: 6 Oct, 00:10+168 hours13 Oct, 00:10

13 October is for the wagering window of the specified winnings batch. It does not move the expiry of unused spins to 13 October. Also, acceptance before 6 October, 23:59 does not mean that other requirements are complete.

Fictitious UTC+8 deadlines: claim 6 Oct 23:59, spins 8 Oct 21:15, turnover 13 Oct 00:10. Not an actual offer.
Own terms in October 2026. Start events and things that expire are different; the last date is not an automatic extension.

If at your opt-in time you start the seven days incorrectly, 12 October, 21:15 will appear. In our assumed rule, 13 October, 00:10 is correct because the start event is crediting winnings. May 2 hours and 55 minutes that difference. The event label is not a small detail even if the two timestamps are close together.

What to say on 8 October, 22:00?

By that time, the spin-use deadline had already passed 45 minutes. The fixed claim cutoff has also been exceeded. The assumed wagering window is not yet over, but we do not know from the clock if the required turnover is complete, the eligible balance is sufficient or there is another restriction.

So the correct note is: unused spins expired according to the assumed terms; claim window closed; wagering period not yet elapsed; completion status unknown. “The promotion is still active, so everything is still available” is wrong. An account screen may have different statuses that must be read separately.

Nor should it be assumed that the validity will reset upon login, refresh or play. In the model, there is no such reset clause. If there are multiple winnings batches in the actual system, check if the shared timer is the same or if each batch has its own timer; do not move the deadline of the new batch to the old one without an explicit rule.

72 hours is not always the same as “until the end of the third day”

For example, 72 elapsed hours from 5 October, 21:15 is 8 October, 21:15. That is not automatic 8 October, 23:59. Wrong rounding will add 2 hours and 44 minutes at the end of the day. Wording that states whether elapsed hours or calendar-day cutoff is used is required.

Always include the time zone in the copied deadline. For example, 8 October, 21:15 UTC+8 is the same instant as 8 October, 13:15 UTC. The clock labels are different, not the length of validity. If only local phone time is visible and the terms have no zone, ask for clarification first.

The countdown “2 days” can also be a rounded display. It should not be converted to an exact timestamp if rounding is not explained. At the boundary itself, it is important whether accepted, completed or settled events need to be reached and how the seconds are treated. The worksheet does not fill in details that are not in the terms.

When the expiry is insufficient or the timers conflict

Save the offer name, URL or terms version, date checked, acceptance reference, credit timestamps and visible deadline. Separate the written rule from its own computed value. If they don’t match, mark as a conflict and ask support before installing the extension.

This question can be used: “For the winnings batch credited on 6 October, 00:10 UTC+8, what event starts the wagering period, and is that separate from the expiry of unused spins?” That’s more specific than “how long is the bonus?” Remove password, OTP and sensitive payment data from any general inquiry.

In UKGC’s consumer guidance about offers, also emphasizes the difference between own money and bonus funds with restrictions. The guidance covers Great Britain. In our worksheet, it is not assumed that both the deposit balance and promotional benefit will be lost when a stage expires; the actual consequence clause must be read.

If the conditions are not clear or you are forced to exceed your own time or spending limit to chase the expiry, you may not accept the offer or stop. A deadline is information to be understood, not a target to be chased. May responsible-gaming resources for limits and staying away from the game.

Frequently asked questions

Does the remaining time mean it is possible to withdraw?

Nope. The clock is just a condition. It does not verify wagering is complete, funds are eligible or account policies have been met.

The amount condition has its own ambiguity: compare bonus-only and deposit-plus-bonus wagering bases.

Does the bonus always have three timers?

Nope. Three are chosen in the fictitious example. The stages may be fewer, more or different in actual terms; record only the true statements.

Are the dates on the table an active offer?

Nope. All dates and durations are editorial calculations only. No offer needs to be claimed from the article.
